The role you will contribute:
The Director of Compliance Audit is a member of the AdventHealth Orlando/Central Florida Hospital's Compliance team. The position reports to the Regional Compliance Officer and collaborates with Compliance Department leadership to implement AdventHealth's compliance auditing and monitoring program across facilities in the assigned Region. This includes assistance with identification of compliance risks and audit areas, development of audit scope documentation, audit tools, and audit reports consistent with Compliance Department protocols, coordinating audit work, and presenting to the regional designated entity Compliance Committee(s).
Job Summary:
Responsible for implementation of the compliance auditing and monitoring program for the various facilities and business lines within the assigned Region. Job responsibilities include audit planning and implementation of compliance auditing and monitoring activities. The responsibilities require periodic visits to the Corporate Office for training as well as travel to the facilities within the Region.
In collaboration with Compliance Department leadership, implement Advent Healths auditing and monitoring program across all facilities in assigned Region.
Facilitate monitoring and auditing activity for the various compliance topics in assigned Region. Coordinate external audits in conjunction with the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Department, as necessary.
Monitor key regulatory changes and government audit and enforcement activities for the purpose of identifying potential compliance risks and audit opportunity areas.
Contribute to company-wide and region-specific compliance risk assessment and audit work plan development.
Develop audit scope documentation, audit tools, and audit reports consistent with Compliance Department guidance and protocols. Lead audit work when needed for the investigation and resolution of compliance matters.
Coordinate the submission of monitoring and auditing documentation to the Corporate Compliance Department to confirm compliance with elements of the monitoring and auditing plan.
Participate in regular meetings with the Corporate Compliance Department and corporate offices.
Present to regional designated entity(s) Compliance Committee(s) on compliance monitoring and auditing activities. Attend local leadership meetings within assigned Region.
Participate in regular update meetings with senior leadership within assigned Region. Provide oversight of compliance staff, if assigned to Region. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
What You Will Need:
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, health care administration or related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Field of Study: Bachelor's in Accounting/Audit, Business or Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Law or other healthcare related field Work Experience.
5 years healthcare compliance audit experience at a management level. [Required]
Experience in hospital compliance and/or physician practice/medical group compliance, coding and/or operations and/or post-acute compliance, depending on assigned Division. [Required]
